Michael R. Fandell is the founder, and owner, of North American Safety Services, LLC.
Mr. Fandell is a Board Certified Safety Professional in Comprehensive Practice with over 30 years of progressive Health & Safety experience from the field to corporate level in a wide variety of industrial manufacturing, petroleum and petrochemical, defense manufacturing, poultry, and heavy industrial construction environments.
He has served as a District Safety Coordinator for a global Oil & Gas exploration and Production company with where he managed multi-State drilling and production safety and emergency response planning. In addition, Mr. Fandell managed the district health and safety training, industrial Hygiene, incident investigation, and work-comp.
Mr. Fandell's petroleum refining health and safety experience includes safety engineering and emergency response coordination. He has coordinated the development of internal confined space rescue and medical response teams, and has served as a member of heavy rescue teams, EMT teams, Fire Brigades, HAZ-Mat teams, Oil Spill response teams, and Unified Command organizations. He has also acted in an Industrial Hygiene capacity, performing numerous employee exposure assessments, recommending appropriate engineering and work practice controls, and Radiation Safety Officer.
In addition, Mr. Fandell has managed on-site industrial occupational medical facilities with supervisory responsibilities of Occupational physicians and nursing staff. These facilities performed pre-employment physicals, occupational injury prevention and management, routine physicals, substance abuse testing, and treatment and follow-up of occupational injuries and illnesses, work-comp, and FMLA. Mike is actively involved in the community. He serves as a member of the board of directors of the Westbrook-Gorham Chamber of Commerce, the Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club, Co-Chair of the Westbrook-Gorham River Cleanup Day, and is currently serving a three-year term as New England Area Director for the American Society of Safety Professionals Region VIII.
